What is slack cooperage?
Slack cooperage was used at the turn of thecentury for the shipping of dry goods and perishables. The meat product would be packed in the barrel then packed with ice. As the ice melted, the water would drain out of the barrel, leaving the meat unspoiled. Hence, the drainage of slack cooperage makes excellent planters for lawn and garden needs.

Do you make rain barrels or wine barrels or whiskey barrels?
No, those barrels are designed to hold liquids; while our barrels are not watertight. However, we offer FDA approved liners for select sizes of our barrel and keg products. The barrel-liner combination makes great rain barrels. Choose the size you need to collect and store your rainwater.
